How to enrol

If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online enrolment application. Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

If you are not able to apply online or you prefer not to, download the paper application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.

Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolment. Please note that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.

How to enrol - Year 6 into Year 7

In NSW government schools, applying to move from primary school to high school is a 2-step process that starts with an Expression of Interest. Visit the moving to high school page to learn more about the process.

  • If you have received an offer from our school for placement into Year 7 next year, the next step is to visit online enrolment to proceed with the offer and complete the enrolment application.
  • If you did not submit an expression of interest or are not eligible, visit online enrolment to start a new application to our school.
  • If you submitted your expression of interest using a paper form, or would prefer not to enrol online, use the application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form.

Distance education

Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

Enrolling in Distance Education

What is distance education? 

The NSW Department of Education provides distance education to students living in NSW who are geographically isolated or unable to attend school on a regular basis due to special circumstances. In some instances, distance education is also available to students who are unable to access an appropriate curriculum at their local school. It may be available for students from preschool through to Year 12. 

Eligibility

If you reside within our intake area and/or are enrolled in one of our linked Public Schools, you may be eligible to apply for distance education under one of the below enrolment criteria. Begin by discussing your child's circumstances with your local school Principal. 

Applications must comply with the procedures for Enrolment in kindergarten to year 12.

Students must meet one of the eligibility conditions in the Enrolment in distance education procedures which provide directions on accessing the department’s distance education provisions.

Full-time enrolment categories

Categories for full-time enrolment include:

  • geographic isolation
  • students travelling within Australia
  • students temporarily resident or travelling overseas
  • students with a medical condition
  • pregnant students/young parents
  • vocationally talented students 
  • students with additional learning and support needs
  • students in extraordinary circumstances 
  • students affiliated with the national school for travelling show children.

Check list to make sure you have completed all the forms needed to enrol as a full-time student for distance education. 

  • Have an existing NSW Government School Enrolment or Government Enrolment Form completed
  • Distance education enrolment form Completed
  • Category statutory declaration (if applicable)
  • Language eligibility declaration ( if applicable)

Single course enrolment

Single course and curriculum access provisions enable students to meet the mandatory requirements of both the department and NESA in Stages 5 and 6. To be accepted, the principal of the distance education school must be satisfied the student’s needs cannot be met within their home (regular) school or setting, or by accessing other local resources.

Single course enrolment is managed directly between the home school and the distance education school, not by the parent/carer. Single subject applications are limited by a quota based on the size and capacity of the school to deliver a broad curriculum from its own resources. Placement in a course is dependent on availability. A place cannot be guaranteed until the single course provision application is completed in full, received and approved as accepted.
