On Thursday 20th September, 102 Year 4 Students, their teachers and a parent support team spent the day learning about Australian flora and fauna, environmental issues and Aboriginal perspectives. Teachers from the Royal National Park Environmental Education Centre led our team through a series of workshops including native animal study, studying water quality by conducting an insect and animal audit, nature walk, insect study and indigenous culture study. The students were given opportunities to investigate our fantastic local environment through hands on and discussion strategies, this included the use of IPads to document their learning. It was a quality learning experience that supported the students' achievement in Science and HSIE and most of all it was great fun.
