Engadine West PS students video conferenced with Dean Young and Matt Cooper of the NRL St George Illawarra Dragons regarding the significance of reading.
Brodey, Noah and George asked the players, What is your favourite book and why?
"Is reading important when you are an NRL star and why?' and "If you were a character from a story, which character would you like to be and why?"
Mr Young and Mr Cooper gave generously of their time and shared with their audience across 8 schools their insights into the value of students reading quality text. Students from classes 4E and 5/6G found the experience most engaging and rewarding.
With our Bookfair in full swing in the library each morning from 8.30am it was a fantastic opportunity to have a shot at tackling some reading fun and develop stronger literacy skills. Come in and purchase some great tittles with a percentage of proceeds from sales going directly back into the school to support student learning
Also, best of luck to all the Engadine Dragons players in Rugby League Grand Finals this weekend, we're all hoping to read some exciting match reports.
